How to Install Your Australian Performance Boxes Wheel Guards
Our range of Aluminium Wheel Guards are engineered for superior performance and are the perfect addition for those who want to enhance both the style and durability of their ute tray.
Please Note: Australian Performance Boxes does not offer an installation service or the M10 mounting bolts and nuts to fit the Wheel Guards and will need to be purchased separately. This kit is designed for DIY installation. Please read the instructions carefully, or consult a professional if you’re unsure.
Important Fitting Notes:
- Please ensure you have suitable bolts, washers, and nuts for your tray and installation preferences. We recommend using 4 x M10 bolts with a washer.
- Double-check you are ordering the right wheel guard size/style to suit your wheel configuration.
- Accessory fitment: If you plan to add Underbody Boxes now or in the future, consider their required space and position when selecting and mounting your wheel guards.
- Double Tapered Underbody Boxes will require a minimum of 15mm - 20mm clearance from the wheel guard to prevent door from rubbing when opening.

Installation Instructions
1. Position the Wheel Guards:
Hold each wheel guard up against the side of your tray to determine the ideal position. Ensure both guards are positioned at the same height and spaced evenly for visual symmetry. If you intend to add Underbody Boxes, check that mounting holes for those will not interfere with your wheel guard placement.
2. Mark and Drill Mounting Holes:
Mark the locations where you wish to mount the Wheel Guards to your tray. Remove the guards and drill pilot holes through the tray at your marked points.
3. Attach and Secure:
Hold the Wheel Guard in place and align the holes on the guard with those on the tray. Insert your bolts through both Wheel Guard and tray, add washers and nuts on the inside. Tighten all fasteners evenly to ensure the guard sits flat and secure against the tray. Repeat for the second wheel guard on the opposite side.
4. Final Check:
Ensure both guards are tightly secured, level, and provide proper coverage of the wheel arches. Double-check for adequate clearance between the guards, wheels, and any existing or planned accessories. Inspect for any sharp edges or exposed fasteners.
