How to Install Your Australian Performance Boxes UTV Tray
The Australian Performance Boxes Aluminium UTV Trays are a versatile addition to any side-x-side vehicle, providing practical benefits for hunting, farming, camping, and more.
Please Note: Australian Performance Boxes does not offer an installation service or the M10 mounting bolts and nuts to fit this UTV Tray Installation and will need to be purchased separately. This kit is designed for DIY installation. Please read the instructions carefully, or consult a professional if you’re unsure.
Installation Instructions
Before You Start: These trays are designed with universal fit mounting points for a range of SXS vehicles. Please confirm fitment on your specific vehicle prior to purchase. For fitment queries or advice, call our team for support tailored to your buggy on 0427 873 817.
1. Vehicle Preparation:
Park your SXS vehicle on a flat, stable surface and ensure it is secure. Remove the existing tub or accessories from the rear mounting area, if required. Clean the mounting area of the H-frame to ensure a good fit for your new UTV Tray.
2. Position the Tray:
With assistance (the tray is approx. 66kg), lift the tray onto the rear tilt frame of your vehicle. Align the front to rear mounting points on the tray with the corresponding locations on your H-frame chassis. Adjust the tray to ensure it sits squarely and centrally over the vehicle frame.
3. Cross Members:
Utilise the supplied additional cross members to secure to the front to rear tilt frame members if bolting to the left. Right is not achievable.
4. Mark and Drill:
If your SXS does not use existing holes, use the tray’s mounting points as a template to mark centers on the tilt frame. Drill through the tilt frame at marked points, ensuring you do not interfere with wiring, brake lines, or other critical components.
5. Bolt in Place:
For each mounting point, insert a washer onto the bolt before passing it through the tray and H-frame mounting points. Secure all bolts loosely at first to allow for small adjustments. Once satisfied with the alignment, evenly tighten all bolts.
6. Attach Optional Tray Sides and Accessories:
If fitting APB Tray Sides or other bolt-on accessories, align and secure them to the integrated points on the tray as per their separate instructions. Ensure any fitted tie-off rails, side rails, or accessories are locked tightly in place.
7. Final Check:
Double-check all mounting hardware for tightness.Inspect that the tray sits level and does not interfere with suspension or bodywork. Test the tie-off rail for stability. Confirm the tray is securely fixed before loading with equipment.
